Black Power

In the history of African Americans in this country, there are some strange movements and images that seem to capture the mood of the country and the black community at that time. And the phrase "black power" is undoubtedly one of the most simple and elegant statement of pride and unity within the black community. But it is a phrase that came to represent the most violent and unpleasant struggle for equality in the black community. And that makes the controversial statement then and now.

Perhaps the biggest picture of black power is the strong hand of a black man, covered in black gloves and raised resistance and pride. Who never used to answer such perfect Olympics in 1968, when Tommy Smith and John Carlos raised black fist of power complete with black gloves, because they receive their medals for his performance in the Olympics.

The phrase "black power" was not created in a parade or a riot, as may be indicated. Actually it was coined by Robert Williams, head of the NAACP in the sixties. But what really started to become a "long way" when it was adopted by Stokely Carmichael and Makasa Given the founder of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, which is the precursor of the famous Black Panther Party.

Unfortunately, the black power movement was characterized by radical elements that go far beyond pursuing the goal of Martin Luther King and other leaders of the civil rights movement. The radical elements look for black segregation and social change through violent means. And, at a time when there is huge excitement in the country due to violence in Vietnam and on the streets of America because of the social struggle, the Black Panthers and other fringe groups to sew fear and anger in response to the racism that once makes it difficult to achieve lasting change.

It is poorly visible even in some of the darkest elements of black history and leadership seem to find the best way forward for African Americans. Sometimes it is necessary that the radical elements be known as members of one community may know the outer limits and find a compromise. This value for the black power movement, due to take over the discussion, despite the violence and the fact the importance of reasonable Americans gather to seek peaceful change is more important.

But there is a good that comes from the black power movement. This image is a picture fist of pride and determination to defend the rights of black Americans. Inspired the younger generation to become more active politically to defend their world and make a statement made famous by James Brown "Say it loud. I'm Black and I'm proud. "Pride is crucial and for young people to find. They should find in their communities and their heroes. So if young black pride and courage to face their own situation of the brave attitude of the leaders, but radically, say senior U.S. blacks has now become a force to be reckoned with, a call to action resulting from the black community to make more positive than negative effects. All the voices speak what is in people's hearts and get the anger and frustration, became part of the movement. Energy can be extracted and used for good rather than evil. And the end result is an energetic movement for change and to make life better for all of black America. And that's what everybody wants.

A troubled times

From 1955-1965 there was a war in Central America. No, this is a war like World War or the War of Independence. It was a war for the heart and soul of this country to determine once and for all if America really going to be a land of equal opportunity for all. This is a war that eventually took the name "Civil Rights Movement."

We must make no mistake, this is not just shouting match. Some events still remember it very brutal and deadly. Those who fought in the war on both sides are serious about the causes they represent and are ready to fight and even die to hear the success of your case. The war waged for years steady progress has been made but not without great sacrifice for the leaders of the movement dedicated to giving new meaning to the phrase "set my people free."

Throughout black history, there may be more important since the Civil War, when the rights of African Americans was fought and won. Tension in developing countries. When the Supreme Court mandated school segregation in the landmark case Brown v. Board of Education, the stage is set. But this is December 1, 1955, when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama, a white man's movement finally take shape and be a titanic struggle for the rights of African Americans in the United States. The first fight is the first line of one of the most important struggle for civil rights era, the Rev.. Martin Luther King.

Intense struggle for freedom is never easy and often marked by violence. Over the next ten years some of the most important milestones in black history occurred as the ...

* 1957 - President Eisenhower sends federal troops in Texas to be admitted to Central High School by nine black students of color.

* 1960 - A sit-in at Woolworth's in Greensboro North Carolina canteen set the stage for non-violent resistance is used with great success for the rest of the battle. Nonviolent protest and civil disobedience became a staple of the civil rights movement because of the influence of Martin Luther King.

* 1963 - historic in Washington in which more than 200,000 people gathered to hear Dr. King's famous "I have a dream" speech.

* 1964 - President Lyndon Johnson signed into law the most important event of his presidency and that he believed deeply in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

* 1965 - Allocation of Malcolm X and the race proper wattage.

* 1965 - President Johnson to take bold steps to accelerate the civil rights movement, the implementation of measures correlated when the issue Executive Order 11 246.

This list is just a few of the highlights of these troubled times that the rights of all Americans, black and white and all colors are redefining both in the streets, courts and others are not other branches of government. In coming years there will be a breakthrough. Individually, all areas of American life to see the progress of African Americans in sports, education, recreation, and politics. There are many moments of pride and sadness when a great and brutal acts committed by people both black and white. But despite the struggles, the company continues to grow and adapt to people will be as it always has been a tradition in American culture.

Fight far from over. Discrimination and hatred still a problem today. And while it's easy to reflect on the day-to-day struggle with regret, we can also look with pride. We can be proud of the great leader who displayed great courage and wisdom to lead this country in a better quality of life. And we can be proud of America because this is where the battle could lead to equality and freedom for all citizens, not just some.

Agree Action

The history of the growth of equality for African Americans in America has become one of the great success followed by small gains and set back too much. X0y0z restriction is not doing all the blacks equal to whites in America. It took many more legal action as well as hundreds of social efforts, large and small, slow to make progress we have seen today. But even in this day and age, in the new century, there is an ongoing fight against racism. Looks like we need leadership to guide people to real equality as much now as ever in our history.

Removing slavery just began a long and difficult struggle for African American culture to be an intrinsic part of what it means to be American. This is because even though the legal definition of slavery was thrown down, attitudes and cultural systems in place to keep the races apart and deny the rights of blacks equal to whites should be considered one by one.

Slowly over several decades, we have seen major changes, but many come with great costs. Law giving voting rights to African Americans for civil rights movement to desegregate schools, each step forward came in resistance, a significant hardship and sacrifice of leaders and ordinary citizens alike to make each step toward equality real facts.

Of all efforts, Äúlevel field, au, nothing is more controversial than favorable action program. Initially, he intended to be an addition to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Over time it became clear that despite the abolition of laws that are implemented segregation or discrimination, it seems there is a separation of nature at work to keep African Americans from getting a fair chance to work because employer prejudice, even if prejudice is not officially recognized in the charter of the company.

There are two significant executive orders made affirmative action a reality. The first Executive Order 10925 signed by President Kennedy on March 6, 1965 which is the first law states the sentence. This was followed by a more comprehensive Civil Rights Act, signed into law by President Johnson. Together these laws are trying to fix by law the opportunity gaps that exist in the workplace for people of color instituting a quota system that employers must meet to satisfy the federal level of minority compliant by acting job.

But more often occurs when governments try to enforce the right attitude by law, these laws are often made many problems for minorities as they heal. However, as the application of the quota system began to become widespread, it opened many doors for African Americans to not open because of racial prejudice and segregation that still retain the African American community to achieve economic potential.

Actually, nobody really wants this kind of justice system implemented. For whites, they felt the sting of an artificial system of judgments that are sometimes called, discrimination Äúreverse, au. While there are some white justice community acquired a taste for what it feels loose on occasion because of the color of your skin, it does not help the countries in our goal to grow together into one, Äúcolor blind, au community.

Agree action is a mixed blessing for the African American community. Meanwhile his work in the short term to open a door that closed because of racism, it is not an ideal solution. This is because it does not meet with Dr. King, AOS vision of a world where people are judged by not the color of their skin but by the content of his character. We can hope that we grow as a cultural point and looking back on affirmative action as an unfortunate but necessary provisions to help us grow and mature as a culture is really integrated.
